Environmental Responsibility:
We Can Be The Change
We at Thacker are cognizant of the adverse effects and impact that running a business can place on the natural environment, however, we try to minimize the effects contributed by Thacker Caskets and our own valued suppliers.
Thacker Casket Manufacturing
When possible, Thacker seeks to either use recycled materials or to make sure any scrap material is recycled in producing metal caskets.
Recycled Steel
We purchase all of the steel that is used to make our products from a mill that uses recycled materials.
80% Of Plastic Recycled
We recycle and regrind approximately 80% of all polycarbonate plastic used to make our hardware and our handles.
Made From Railroads
All of the bedframes for our caskets and parts are made specifically from old recycled railroad tracks.
Low VOC Paint
We use low volatile organic compound (VOC) paint in the "low to no" hazardous air pollutants (HAPS) category.
Recycled Material
We recycle as much material as possible, including scrap steel, cardboard, plastics, and paint waste.
Minimal Trash
Our entire manufacturing plant only needs one regular-size dumpster for waste, as just about everything is recycled/reused.
Thacker Caskets Headquarters
Our headquarters was built with the intention of minimizing our carbon footprint.
Motion Sensor Lights
The entire building features motion sensor lights in each room in addition to long-lasting, LED lightbulbs.
Rain Filtration Systems
Our rooftop is equipped with a rain filtration system that filters the rainwater 3 times before draining to a storm water management area.
Reduce Energy Costs
We have reinforced, tinted windows that reduce energy costs and help to ensure the overall longevity of the building itself.
Our Partners
We’re not alone in our desire to be environmentally friendly. Thacker Caskets has partner companies who hold the same ideals such as our primary hardwood manufacturer, Victoriaville Group.
Certified By The CPA
Victoriaville Group uses "Environmentally Preferable Products" certified by the Composite Panel Association.
Reforestation Programs
They pride themselves on using 95% of their wood from suppliers that have signed onto a reforestation program.
Producing Clean Energy
They recycle approximately 2,300 tons of wood waste annually thus producing the equivalent of almost 11.5 million kWh of clean energy.
